Week 7 EOC: Final Project Pitch

I am going to pitch an exciting idea to you. Vegan chocolate covered pumpkin seeds. They’re going to be boxed up and manufactured like Raisenettes, sold at $7.00 dollars a box. This delicious treat will be called Pumpkinettes. Pumpkinettes will be sold in supermarkets such as, Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Trader Joes. They will be considered a healthy vegan treat and a great supplement for iron intake which most vegans lack in when they first start. A lot of people seem to be more health conscious these days. There are a lot of vegan friendly restaurants opening up now. I also notice a lot of new vegan friendly items on restaurant menus that didn’t have them before. There are more and more people that are concerned about their health now. So the target market will be health conscious, vegan friendly consumers, who still want to enjoy a sweet treat without feeling guilty. There aren’t too many competitors right now in the industry that I would consider a threat. Obviously all the chocolate candies are going to be a competitor to me. The difference would be the fact that this a healthy treat. There are some healthy chocolate products out there but most of them are not vegan friendly. Not only that, but there isn’t any chocolate covered vegan pumpkin seeds in the market. Illinois grows the most pumpkins out of any state in America. Therefore, our manufacturing factory's will be built around and in that state to save on import and export cost. Overhead cost will also be decreased because there aren’t many ingredients involved in the process of making a vegan friendly chocolate covered pumpkin seed. Packaging will bio degradable. An alliance business relationship can be formed with farmers who grow the pumpkins to create the seeds. There is no shortage in pumpkin seeds because it’s not much of a commodity compared to most Americas agriculture items, but that will work out in our favor. I think this would be a great idea and can be marketable in the chocolate treat industry.
